Auto resume doesn't work?

I have an iphone 5s and so far have only the free version of mapmytracks. I noticed however that when I'm mapping, with the settings "auto resume", and "auto pause" on "on", the moment I stop and then continue on later, the recording remains paused the whole time after.

Is there anything I'm doing wrong? I can't imagine that's how it's supposed to operate.

I also noticed I can pay pay monthly, but also one payment of 3.99$. What's the difference?

Small update;

I just came home from a grocery trip and noticed that halfway, in a store, the tracker paused and ever since did not resume. So same problem, only before I left I paid the one-time fee of 3.99$, figuring that may have been it. Still same problem thus.

Some help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like your phone did not come out of the auto pause state for some reason. The app is set up to detect if you have started to move again but on this occasion it seems it did not. Has this happen often or was this a one-off?

With regards to the pay monthly options - when you sign up to PLUS you benefit from additional website features as well as unlocking all the features in the app. If you simply upgrade the app you unlock the features in the app but not on the website.

I just installed this today to my iPhone 3Gs and the 'does not resume' bug happens to me too. The age of this phone/software cannot be to blame, since the non-resumption is happening to Kris's iPhone 5S, as mentioned above.

What might be wrong? How to fix it?

It also makes a chime-like noise periodically and the help on the phone does not explain what that is for.

The chime noise represents the change in pause state. It sounds when auto pause starts and it sounds when auto pause resumes. Auto Pause can be switched off in the app's settings.

The app should come out of auto pause by itself. If it does not then you can force it by tapping the stop button then choose Pause. This is the equivlient of manually pausing the app. After that you can manually resume the activity. This should kick start the tracking again.
