Errors on the leaderboard

Hi community.

One of my favourite aspects of MapMyTracks is the email I receive each Sunday evening. It details two things I really find motivational - firstly how many calories I have burned that week (and therefore how much coffee, wine, biscuits etc I can have ;)) but also how far I have run and where I am on the leaderboard. I'm sure many of us are competitive and like this aspect as if I finished 15th this week I push myself to try and finish higher next week etc. What I find annoying is that recently I find that many of the folk above me haven't run the distances they say they have and this pushes the rest of us down. For example this week the guy in first place "ran" 40,988km over 4 sessions in a week! A big improvement from the 16,000+ km he ran in the previous week. Is there anyway to put a check in place to ensure that only genuine activities are posted as I don't think anyone really thinks amatuers like us can run 16,000km in just over an hour. Anyway wondering if anyone else gets annoyed by this or maybe its just me!

We know how frustrating it can be to see the leaderboard being taken over by rogue data. Because it's possible to upload data from third-party tracking devices it's not always possible to capture all invalid data points in an activity. We do keep an eye on things but if you do spot any oddities before we do then please do let us know and we can make corrections where needed.
