Show my progress

I am planning to ride across the USA starting in 9 days. I would like to enable friends to see my location at any time. I get the impression that mapmytracks can do this, but I have not found any documentation that tells me exactly how to do it. Do you have a step by step tutorial for an event like this? I think I can figure out how to create the event and then create daily routes, but I don't see how someone can go to mapmytracks.com and see where I am on that day's route.
Thanks for your help,

The first thing to do would be to set up your event and add in the route for each of the nine days. You can add in a route using the plotting tools or upload a GPX file that has it. I would recommend that you break down the event into nine different race routes, that is, one for each day.
Once the event is set up you'll need to ensure that you are 'Attending' the event. You can do this from the event that you set up. After this it's simple, just start a 'Online Public' activity from our mobile app on each day of the event.
As you will be set to attend the event your progress will be shown on the event pages you create.
The key to this is to ensure you are tracking live from the app.
If you would like us to look over the event set up to ensure it's all set up correctly just let me know.
