We have made it simple for all Map My Tracks’ users to take, upload and share photos in the Map My Tracks app. It is also easy to pin as many photos as you want to your tracks.

The in-app camera enables you to take and upload photos from directly within the app. You do not need to open your camera from outside of the Map My Tracks app to take a photo when you are tracking. In addition, you do not need to pin or email photos separately (although you can still do this manually via the Map My Tracks website, if you wish).

You have the choice to keep your photos private or to share them publicly.

How do I use the in-app camera to take a photo when tracking?

In the Android app, just select the camera icon in the bottom right of the map and take your photo. Once you have taken the photo, the screen will return to the tracking page.

In the iOS app, simply select the camera icon in the top right of the map and take your photo. Once you have taken the photo, the screen will return to the tracking page.

Your photos will be stored in your phone as normal. They can also be stored/viewed in the Map My Tracks website.

How do I upload a photo?

All users can take photos while recording a track and upload their photos at any time after the track was recorded. When you have finished tracking your activity, you can pin your photos to your activity by selecting the Add Photo icon in the bottom right of your map. Select Upload Photos and choose the photos that you want to pin.

If you are a PLUS member and you are tracking live, it is even simpler; your photos will be automatically uploaded and synced online, either publicly or privately.

Upload photos by email

Just like activity files, photos can be uploaded to Map My Tracks by email. This is great way to add photos to your activities that have been taken using your phone's camera.
