Activity Insights (AI) Photo Captions automatically describe your activity photos in natural language that matches your personal communication style.
Getting started:
Step 1: Set your preferences (One-Time Setup)
1. Go to Settings → Activity Insights (AI)
2. Choose your preferences:
• Formality: Casual, Neutral, or Professional
• Energy: Low, Moderate, or High
• Focus: Emotional support or Technical analysis
• Communication Style: Brief or Detailed
• Encouragement Type: Motivating, Gentle, Competitive, or Balanced
Activity Insights will remember these preferences and use them for all photo captions (and workout analysis).
Step 2: Generate a Caption
1. Take a photo during your activity (or upload one after)
2. When your activity is finished tap through to the photo.
3. Tap the pencil edit icon.
4. Then use the "Summarise this photo" button
5. Wait a few seconds
6. Review the caption
7. Edit if you want, or use as-is
How personalisation works:
Activity Insights adapts to YOUR style. Here's how the same photo caption changes based on preferences:

Casual & High Energy:
"Muddy trails after the rain, legs feeling it but absolutely loving it!"
Professional & Low Energy:
"Early trail session in post-rain conditions, steady pace maintained"
Neutral & Moderate Energy, Technical Focus:
"Trail run on wet terrain, good traction and form adaptation throughout"
Your captions will consistently match your chosen style across all photos.
Customisation:
- Language: Captions match your app language setting (8 languages supported)
- Style: Change your preferences anytime in Settings
- Edit: You can always modify generated captions before posting

Troubleshooting:
- Caption doesn't match your style? Check Settings → Activity Insights preferences
- Wrong language? Check Settings → Language
- Not working? Make sure you have internet connection
Privacy:
Photos are processed through OpenAI's API using their standard privacy terms. They don't store your photos beyond generating the caption. Your style preferences are stored locally on your device and in your Map My Tracks profile.

Activity Insights uses the same preferences for both photo captions and workout analysis, giving you a consistent communication experience throughout the app.
